Greetings to all Stakeholders of Chesnut Elementary School:

As we embark on the 2021-22 School year, it is with great excitement and certainty that our students will have a successful year at Chesnut Elementary. We welcome our new families! Reflecting on our school’s mission of Educating the whole child to become college and career ready global citizens in a 21st century environment, motivates me to ensure that all students will be exposed to authentic and engaging learning experiences. My commitment as an instructional leader of teaching and learning keeps my focus on effectively supporting our teachers and staff as we maintain our positive school climate and culture.

We were all challenged in 2020-21 with unfamiliar pathways of teaching and learning; yet, we maintained our focus on students’ needs and celebrated many achievements together. The academic success and social emotional health of all students are the utmost importance at Chesnut Elementary. As a culturally diverse school, sustainability of our STEM Certification, student growth, and continuous school improvements are vital elements of who we are in our community, locally, and nationwide. Together, we will work as a team to maintain an environment of excellence, collaboratively analyze data to guide the instructional processes, ensure equity and access for all students, while engaging parents, community members, and partners.

As your principal, I will consistently communicate with you and welcome your ideas. Our teachers and staff will continue to work hard each day to ensure our scholars are prepared with college and career readiness skills.
